Artist Trish Morrissey has been a great influence on my work lately. She is an artist from Dublin that her own family memories and photos to create her images. Working with her older sister in the series "Seven Years", Morrissey visits three decades of family memories. Using clothing from the time period her and her sister dress up like as the characters. There are some as themselves when they where younger, or another with her parents bringing home their first child. Most the pictures are fictional coming only from her own memory. She uses a snapshot style to photograph giving it the look that it could be real. The only thing that tells you it's fictional is the fact that she presents them very large.

I feel like i am trying to do something similar to her. I am using photographs as inspiration, but not necessarily copying them. Also I am using memories of my own relationship to make my images.

I like the asthetic she is using. Although the photographs are suppose to look like snapshots, you can still tell that they are not real because they are really clean. Right now I am trying to use a messier asthetic to show a more realistic snapshot. I'm not positive if I'm going to stick with it but right now I like the idea of the viewer being confused about the authenticity of the characters.
